Hearts of Oak beat Kotoko 3-1 to win Ghana @60 Cup

Accra Hearts of Oak have clinched the Ghana @60 anniversary cup after beating Asante Kotoko on Monday afternoon.
 
Hearts of Oak recorded a 3-1 victory over their sworn rivals at the Accra Sports Stadium.
 
The Phobian lads started the game on a good note as they dominated the early minutes but squandered their numerous chances created.
 
Whizkid Patrick Razak nearly fetched the opener in the 8th minute with brilliant strike but it was saved by goalkeeper Felix Annan.
 
Hearts of Oak continue to mount pressure on their arch-rivals with another shot from Thomas Abbey but it went wide.
 
Asante Kotoko gained possession but their first shot from Abass Mohammed couldn't earned them the lead.
 
Both sides distributed brilliant passes among themselves in the mid of the first department of the game.
 
Goalkeeper Felix Annan was called to duty as he saved another powerful shot from Patrick Razak in the 40th minute.
 
A 45th minute free-kick by Michael Akuffu was also pulled out by Hearts of Oak goalie Samuel Akurugu.
 
Kotoko managed to hold the Rainbow boys to a dull stalemate in the first half of the game.
 
After the break, the Porcupine Warriors returned with an impressive performance as they wanted to break the deadlock.
 
Obed Owusu nearly opened the score in 55th minute of the game but his header went over the bar.
 
Hearts of Oak grabbed the lead in the 65th minute through subsitute Kwame Kizito.
 
Defender Awal Mohammed had a quick response as he netted the leveller in the 67th minute of the game.
 
The capital-based club piled pressure on Asante Kotoko to restored the lead with ten minutes to end the match.
 
Skipper Thomas Abbey made it 2-1 in the 80th minute for the Rainbow boys with a long range strike.
 
Winger Patrick Razak completed the Hearts of Oak victory in the dying embers of the game with a sumptuous strike.
 
The second leg of the match will be played in Kumasi on 28th of this month.
 
President of the republic of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo and his vice Dr. Bawumia also graced the match.
