FIFA U17 WORLD CUP: USA beat Ghana to top Group A

The Black Starlets of Ghana suffered their first defeat in the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup on Monday.
USA recorded a 1-0 victory over the male U17 team of Ghana in the second round of Group A at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India.
The American U17 team started the game on a good note as they mounted pressure on the Black Starlets but they failed to find the back of the net.
Captain Eric Ayiah could have grabbed the opener for Ghana but he failed to put the ball at the back of the net after dribbling the USA defenders and goalkeeper.
Both sides squandered most of their chances and set-pieces awarded to them as the first department of the match ended in a scoreless draw.
After recess, USA piled more pressure on the West African country to break the deadlock in the mid of the game.
A 75th minute goal from Toronto FC whizz-kid Ayomide Akinola handed the Americans their second victory in the ongoing tournament.
Ghana will beat out with host nation India in their last group A game.
