PREVIEW: ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK VS ASHANTI GOLD SC; Another test of mettle for Ashanti Gold in their quest for survival

Accra Hearts of Oak will sit at home comfortably to welcome Ashanti Gold SC from Obuasi in the last match of the second-third games in the 2016/17 season at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Accra Hearts of Oak keeps improving match-after-match and stands a poll position of winning the league this season as they have been a better side under Scottish, Frank Elliot Nuttall who has seen the team look almost conquerable.

After a not difficult win against Elmina Sharks in Edina last weekend by beating them 2-0, they return home this afternoon in a midweek fixture to play a team on resurgence, Ashanti Gold SC who are on a run of league survival after a shambolic start to the season.

Accra Hearts of Oak has not been in a better position to winning the league than they have had this season since they last won it in 2009 and will cement that this afternoon if only they can beat a difficult Ashanti Gold under C.K. Akunnor.

WInful Cobbinah who has revitalized the Hearts of Oak side ever since he returned to the side half way in the first round will be out of the team as he is still with the Black Stars squad to face Mexico and the USA in the United States of America.

Thomas Abbey, who has been an inspiration and a mercurial factor for the team will lead his charges against the "Aboa Kese" lads as he will be on to increasing his goal tally for himself which might go a long way in increasing the chances of the club in winning the league this season.

The best team in the league after the first round has been Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC as they have gathered much points than any other club in the league, reasons obviously known to be the fact that they are on the blink of been relegated and can only survive if they grind results in the second round which they have done so well.

Coach C.K. Akunnor has gotten the best rhythm of his side when he started poorly after taking over from interim manager, coach Bambo and he is yet to lose a game in his last seven matches for Ashanti Gold.

"The Miners" will be in a pressurized position to get at least a point in Accra this afternoon against Heart of Oak to further place them in a good position on the league ladder that will keep them farther away from the relegation zone.

They will be with all their available arsenal to shoot the "Phobian" club as they will be attaching all seriousness there should be in getting what is expected in this game.

Both sides will enter the game with a meaning interest on the field as a win for any side will determine the stand of any of them if there is a loss or a win for any of the sides.
