FA PREVIEW: Asante Kotoko vs Medeama SC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium

It's always a gruesome affair between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC in the MTN FA Cup and it surely will be once more this evening at the Len Clay Sports Stadium as both teams take on each other for a berth in this year's FA Cup final to be held in Tamale.

This semi final round of match between these, lately, sworn sides started raising eyebrows weeks before the encounter as precedence has it that, matches between both sides, mostly do not finish without a controversy which this year's semi final clash between them will leave no stone unturned as to who gets have chance to represent Ghana in the CAF confederations cup next year.

With both sides having mild or no chance of winning the league since it is already between Aduana Stars and WAFA who are having a mammoth chance of winning it with Hearts of Oak lurking around these two side to pounce on the trophy should there be a slip, it will be the most important game of the season for Kotoko and Medeama at Obuasi.

Realistically in the FA Cup since its resuscitation some few years ago, both Kotoko and Medeama have met each other more than any other sides have met with the Tarkwa-based-side having an advantage over the "kum apem" lads.

Now, after the WAFU break and enough preparation, both teams should be ready to give teeming fans insatiable taste of good football at the Len Clay Sports Stadium tonight.

However, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will need to pick up and restrategize their approach of playing the FA Cup this year as it has been either a lukewarm approach or little or no purpose and importance attached to the competition by the "porcupine warriors" but with the assurance of Steve Polack as the only competition his side can win, it gives credence to the fact that Kumasi Asante Kotoko are ready for tonight's game.

Those elimination scare to Kumasi Asante Kotoko at Bekwai against BYF, against Proud United in the Central Region and against Nea Salamina in Kumasi should be a way of not giving football to the fans and exhibits how not to go to Africa through the FA Cup.

Nevertheless, Medeama SC will look calm and collected once more against a side they have the upper hand against in the FA- Kotoko- and will not to be troubled whatsoever taking on Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the semi finals as they have had a smooth and comfortable run in the FA Cup this year.
