Kotoko to adopt Accra as new home for Champions League Featured

The Porcupine Warriors are set to confirm the 40,000 seater stadium as their new home for their 2020/21 CAF Champions League campaign, can report.


Ghana's sole CAF Champions League representative Asante Kotoko are considering to announce the Accra Sports Stadium as home venue.

The Asante Kotoko board of directors have held talks with the club's Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah over the adoption of the Accra Sports Stadium for their CAF Champions League campaign.
The decision to play their home matches in the capital comes following the ongoing renovation works at their traditional home venue, Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Earlier this year, The multi-purpose stadium was closed down by the National Sports Authority (NSA) for a major facelift.
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium is currently undergoing a major refurbishment for the first time after twelve years. understands that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will not be ready for the Porcupine Warriors during their 2020/21 CAF Champions League campaign.
Asante Kotoko confirmed to participate in the CAF Champions League last week.
