The Asante Kotoko right-back has earned praise from the Black Stars gaffer after making his debut against Sudan

Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor said he was happy with the performance of Christopher Nettey on his first-ever match for Ghana at the senior level.

Nettey was handed a late call-up to represent his native country as replacement for America-based defender Harrison Afful.
“It wasn’t the best of performance but I am very happy for what we have produced today. We kept a clean sheet and that’s the most important thing. We are expecting some players tonight who will join us for the return leg in Sudan.” Akonnor said after the game.
“There are a number of positives to pick from the game. A player like Nettey played for the first time and he did well. All he needs is another chance.” he added.
Nettey was substituted on the 68th minute by Nicholas Opoku.
A brace from Andre Ayew handed Black Stars a 2-0 win over Sudan in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The reverse leg tie will be played in Khartoum on November 17.
