Ghana's sole representative in this year's edition of the CAF Confederation Cup failed to make their home advantage count after sharing spoils with their Burkinabe counterparts in the first leg tie of the preliminary round.


AshantiGold SC were held to a 0-0 draw by Salitas FC in the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The Miners tried their lucks in the early minutes of the match but their efforts couldn't hand them the opener.
In-form Hand Kwofi nearly gave AshantiGold SC the lead but his strike went wide as Appiah McCarthy stunning free-kick on the 15th minute missed the poat by inches.
Salitas FC were unlucky in the first half as their thunderbolt free-kick was denied by the woodwork.
 AshantiGold SC continued their dominance in the second half with hopes of opening the score but they were denied by the backline of Salitas FC.
Coach Milovan Cirkovic's side were forced to make substitution after Richard Osei Agyemang picked an injury where he was rushed to the hospital.
AshantiGold SC had chances including some goal glaring opportunities to win all the needed points but their upfront was wasteful.
AshantiGold were unable to find a breakthrough in the latter stages of the match to begin their 2020/21 season's campaign with a victory
