Former Asante Kotoko gunman Kwame Opoku has appealed to the supporters of USM Alger pleading for their prayers and unflinching support after his unveiling last Tuesday
The Algerian outfit finally revealed their new $350,000 signing to their fans at the Oumar Hamadi Stadium yesterday after successfully passing his mandatory medicals and other Covid test with Kwame Opoku looking set to step in action for his new club.
Speaking after his launching, the ex- Nkoranza Warriors forward has called for the supports and prayers of his fans most especially that of his new club since he believe it is the only way to help him flourish in the red and black shirt and also expressed gratitude to everyone for their kind words during and after his switch to Algeria.
“What I will say to the fans or requests from them is their prayers. I want them to pray for me and also give me unflinching support to be able to be a success story at the club."
“I have always received encouraging words and messages from the fans after my deal with the club was announced and I must say that made me happy and served as a morale boost and a big motivation for me and I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the lovely fans of this esteemed football team”, Opoku concluded.
The 21 year old joined Kotoko prior to the commencement of the ongoing season netting seven times in the sixteen games he played in the GPL and also found the back of the net once against ES Setif in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Kwame Opoku's superb exploits earned him a call up into the senior national team of Ghana where he started in the Black Stars 1-1 stalemate against South Africa in Johannesburg in the just ended AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
