The former Asante Kotoko striker is buzzing after making a cut in ES Setif match-day squad for their game against USM Alger this evening.
Ghanaian striker Kwame Opoku has expressed his delight after being named in ES Setif squad list for their all-important fixture against USM Alger in the Algerian Ligue 1.
The 21-year-old is set to make his now for the Red and Black lads after completing a his four-and-half year deal from Ghana Premier League heavyweights Asante Kotoko last month.
“I’m happy today. It is every player’s dream to be part of his club’s matchday squad so I was excited when named in the squad to face E.S Setif,” Opoku told Angel FM, Kumasi.
“We arrived in Setif on Monday and have even finished our morning training ahead of the game. When I arrived in Algeria, there were issues with my documents that is why my debut delayed.
“Currently, the Algerian FA are only waiting for one proof from Ghana FA which confirms that I’m a national team player and has played for Black Stars before. If I wasn’t a national team player, it wouldn’t have been a problem,” he added.
Opoku made his debut for the senior national team of Ghana in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
He scored nine goals in his 20 game outings for the Porcupine Warriors during his short spell at the club
