C.K Akonnor draws positive from Ghana's defeat to Morocco Featured

Head coach of the Black Stars, C.K Akonnor has drawn lots of positives despite losing narrowly to Morocco in an international friendly last Tuesday at the Prince Moulaye Abdellah Stadium in the capital, Rabat.

 
 

The Atlas Lions recorded a slim and painful 1-0 loss to the Black Stars of Ghana after centre-back Jawad El Yamiq pounced on Razak Abalora's blunder to head into the net the only goal to grab his native the bragging rights in the end.

 
Speaking after the game, coach C.K Akonnor has revealed he saw something good about the team as they are beginning to adapt to his style of play and also gradually understanding to his way of football and believe the team is going to pick up and gel themselves very well for their subsequent matches.
 
"There is a way I want us to play, in the previous matches we were not able to play as a team due to many factors."
 
"But today, our work ethics, the understanding of roles that each and every one has to play was better."
 
"Even though we didn’t get a full house from the beginning, the few days we trained was very useful and I think the future looks great."
 
The senior national team at the moment, have touched down in the country at the Kotoka International Airport and will hold up a recovery training this evening as part of preparations towards their second friendly against Cote D'Ivoire over the weekend.
