Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has disclosed he has spotted lots of positives from the two friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast today but confessed they will have to improve their efforts in the final third.

The senior national team have engaged themselves in two international friendlies in the space of three days losing narrowly to Morocco last Tuesday in their capital, Rabat.

The four time African champions winless run proceeds after been held by the Elephants of La Cote D'Ivoire to a goalless drawn game at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The game was indeed a herculean one which saw high level of display from the two teams making some decent attempts at goal in both departments but none of them found the back of the net in the end.
Speaking with StarTimes after the game, CK Akonnor stated he is alright with his team's output in Rabat and today, and is confident the team is going to gel really well going forward with the return of some senior players.
Also, he attested to the fact that, goalscoring has been one of their major problems having failed to score in any of the two matches and indicated they are going to practice on that until they become perfect.
“Of course Wakaso and a few guys are not in, when they come in there will be improvement, I’m very very sure," Akonnor said after the game
“And what we’ve done with Morocco and today, definitely we could get somewhere,”
“If there is anybody who is a scorer and good, we will look for that person but so far what we have now, we have to work and improve in that area."
“It’s very very important because without goals you cannot be a winner so we need to do that.”
The Black Stars at the moment will shift their attention to the game against the Walia Ibexes of Ethiopia in their opening fixture of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
