Ghana hardman Edwin Gyimah has confirmed his departure from Black Leopards after a two year stay with the Limpopo club which ended in relegation last season.

Gyimah joined Leopards in October 2019 and went on to put in a shift of 53 appearances through his bumpy stay.

"My contract with Leopards has been terminated and this was done by mutual agreement. I still had another three years, but the contract has now been terminated," he tells KickOff.com.

"The club was relegated and so that obviously meant there would be some changes made with matters relating to remuneration. It is against that background and the fact that I wasn’t so keen to play in the first division that we then came to this agreement to go our separate ways.

"I will now have to find another club following my stay with Leopards. My journey in the game will continue elsewhere and I am grateful for the opportunity that they gave me to play my football for the past two seasons, regardless of all that happened while I was there.

"They know I never short-changed them with my performance on the field and I will never do that with the next club that I get to play for. My career has been a hustle that I still want to continue with, and I don’t think being in the first division is where I really want to be at this stage of my career.

"Luckily, I am now playing as a non-foreigner which I suppose will make it less of a stress to find a new club because I can play right away. I am hopeful that I will be playing for another team here in the PSL."

The 30-year-old has spent most of the last decade playing in South Africa having had spells with SuperSport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Orlando Pirates and BidVest Wits
