Former Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku has urged Hearts of Oak to beat Algeria side JS Saoura in the CAF Confederation Cup play-off.

Hearts of Oak will slug-it-out with the Algerian side in a two legged showdown with the winner marked to advance to the group stage of the annual club competition.

The first leg matches will come off between 26-28 November while the second leg will be played on 3-5 December, 2021.

Opoku who plays for USM Alger believes Hearts of Oak can pull a trick and dumped-out Saoura and progress to the group stage of the competition.

“I see that Hearts of Oak have the upper hand over them (JS Saoura)," Opoku told Kumasi-based Ashh FM.

“This is because Saoura will come to Ghana for the first leg match and they will not open up, they will not let the game flow in order not to concede plenty goals and so we have the advantage.

"We must make sure to kill the game here else it will be very difficult over there in Bechar.”

The Phobians dropped to the Confederation Cup after losing 7-2 on aggregate to Wydad Athletic of Morocco in the final qualification round of the CAF Champions League.
