The Panthers started on a higher note after Guelor Kaku swung in a decent cross into the box from the right but was dealt with properly by Daniel Amartey for an attacking throw.

On the 16th minute, Andre Ayew nearly won a tussle ahead of Bruno Ecuele. His clearance fell on Daniel Kofi Kyereh, turns beautifully but fired wide for goalkick.

Finally Ghana broke the deadlock on the 19th minute. Andre Ayew turns Anthony Henri with a great first control and struck beyond the reach of the goalkeeper to snatch the lead.
 
Ghana after taking the lead, looked really slow especially with their transition towards goal and were only focused on keeping the ball among themselves. 
 
The Panthers with a free kick, Athanase Bouanga nearly took Ghanaians by surprise but his clever free kick was gathered calmly by Jojo Wollacott. It finished 1-0 for the Black Stars after first half.
 
Back from recess, both teams came really slow in the second half with no any dangerous incursions at each other in the opening minutes. 
 
Jordan Ayew on the 55th minute, tried dazzling his way through but was denied entry for a wasted corner kick. 
 
The Gabonese with their first dangerous incursion but Johann Obiang had his shot blocked by Andy Yiadom.
 
Gabon push again in search for the equaliser but a timely intervention from Jojo Wollacott stopped in the process
 
On the 61st minute, Johann Obiang came so close again but his shot was headed out by Baba Rahman.
 
Thomas Partey starts a serging run, sets up Paintsil with a great mirror pass, he raced his way through the box but his curler attempt was blocked by the Gabon defence.
 
The Panthers with the equaliser on the 87th minute after Jim Allevinah scored sumptuously to get the equaliser. Just what they have been pushing for.
 
It finished 1-1 after full time. Heartbreak for Ghana.
