The Chelsea star has confirmed his decision to hang his boots from international duties.

Morocco international Hakim Ziyech has announced his retirement from the national team at age 28.

Ziyech was left out of Morocco's final squad for the just ended 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after a complete breakdown in his relationship with coach Vahid Halilhodzic.
“I will not return to the national team, it is my final decision.” Ziyech told ADSports TV
"I am focusing on what I am doing with my club. It was a decision he (Halilhodzic) made and you have to respect it. But then if all the lying comes with it ... for me it is clear and I will not return to the national team”
"To be honest, I don't watch a lot of football in my private life. Every day I am busy with football, so I try to stay away from football in my private life. To be honest, I don't know a lot but we cannot underestimate them."
Ziyech was born in the Netherlands and featured for the Dutch at the youth level but switched allegiances to Morocco in 2015
He capped 40 times for the Moroccan national team and managed to score ten goals.
