PREVIEW: CAF CC - Kariobangi Sharks vs Asante Kotoko - Team News, TV Coverage & line ups

It is another time for a Ghanaian club to represent the country in Africa in its club competitions and it is only one club that is expected to hoist the flag of Ghana high in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Several clubs have had the chance to wear the shoes of Ghana in the competition, with some, leaving indelible marks to reminisce on and others, leaving nothing to linger on the minds of Ghanaian.
In apropos to the above, Asante Kotoko, over the past few years in Africa Club Competition, have left nothing whatsoever of nostalgic to linger on as the Africa Club of the Century. They've shown nothing to deserve that accolade as they last went past the first stage of the competition close to a decade now regardless of the opposition they come across.
In the newly formatted CAF Competitions, Asante Kotoko will have the berth to start it for Ghana in the 2018/19 CAF Confederations Cup against Kariobangi Sharks in the 1/16th stage, an advanced stage to where they reached in the last competition.
Asante Kotoko, by the way of a "walkover" against a Cameroonian side, will have their first fair of share in the CAF Confederations Cup in Kenya in a dicey encounter against the Kenyan Cup Champions.
Since the coming of C. K. Akonnor to Asante Kotoko, this is supposed to be his first competitive action after close to 15 different friendly games in preparation to this competition.
Eleven (11) new players have been augmented in the team and seems like Asante Kotoko are ready to vent their spleen on Kariobangi Sharks with only one lost in the friendly encounters prior to this game.
3-0 victories against Inter Allies and Black Meteors give solid credence to believing that Asante Kotoko are ready for this encounter which they are boosted by the addition of Daniel Nii Agyei who's the most successful Ghanaian player in the Africa Club Competition, in their travelling team.
Kariobangi Sharks have proven not to be pushovers from their games watched and performances in the Kenyan Premier League and will sternly provide the kind of competition Asante Kotoko need in this encounter.
Before playing Asante Kotoko, they comfortably disposed Djibouti side Arta Solar by 9-1 on aggregate, which means that they're a free scoring side who will give Asante Kotoko much more work in defense.
Asante Kotoko will have the Africa experience to their advantage as Kariobangi Sharks are novice on the continental game and should spark a walking path over the Kenyan side even before coming to Kumasi for the second leg a week later.
C. K. Akonnor's Asante Kotoko to Africa have had the best of squad amongst those who have failed to make it pass the first stage of the competition. However, there is still little faith and hope that the team will conjure any special thing in this encounter having witness how Asante Kotoko let the teeming fans in dismay against Eulma and USM Bejeai from Algeria, Barack Young Controllers (BYC) of Liberia and Club Athletique Renaissance de Ainglo (CARA) Brazzaville of Congo.
What is expected of Asante Kotoko on Saturday afternoon at the Moi Kasarani International Stadium in Nairobi when they come up against Kariobangi Sharks is to get a convincing results that will rekindle hopes of making it to the next round.
Coaches quotes

“We cannot underrate them (Kariobangi Sharks) as they equally are a good team. We, however, will put our best foot forward and I’m confident we’ll go back home with a positive result,” - CK Akonnor (Asante Kotoko)
