Kotoko coach C.K Akonnor unhappy with players first half performance

Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has expressed his anguish and unhappiness over his players "bad" performance in the first half during their 1-0 defeat to Sudanese giants Al Hilal of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The Porcupine Warriors opened the Confederation Cup group stage campaign with defeat at Umdurman in Sudan after Waleed Hamid lone strike in the 40th minute powered the homesters to victory.

And Unhappy coach C.K Akonnor has articulated sadness of his players poor display in the first half.

"We did very well. The first half wasn't good but the second half was good. Just as we had an idea of how they play. I'm sure they also got to know how we play," C.K Akonnor said after the match.

"We struggled a little bit in terms of the way we wanted to play. However we were able to express good football in the second half. The idea was to soak them and attack. And we wanted to keep the ball. We lost and we must take it in good faith. We'll go back and work on chances," he ended.

Kotoko will host Zambian giants Zesco United on Wednesday, February 13, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
