Ibrahim Tanko: We'll eliminate Algeria to make U23 AFCON for the first time Featured

The 41-year-old gaffer is optimistic that his side will make it to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time.

Ghana U23 coach Ibrahim Tanko has assured that he and his charges will eliminate Algeria in the final qualification round of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Meteors of Ghana will battle out with the Algeria U23 side for a slot to play in the third edition of the tournament.

Ghana is yet to qualify to the Africa U23 Cup of Nations since it was introduced in 2011.

"We have had tough opponents in the qualifiers and Algerians are our next opponent." Tanko said.

"We don't know much about them [Algeria] but we'll get their videos before the match in June"

"Both teams have qualified but I believe in my boys that we will beat Algeria to qualify"

Ghana and Algeria qualified to the final qualification round after knocking out Gabon and Equatorial Guinea respectively.

The 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations will be hosted in Egypt between November 5-22.
