Three players from Ghana made the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations Best XI

Three Ghanaian players made it into the WAFU best XI after finishing runners up in the competition held in Senegal few days ago.

Fatawu Mohammed and Joseph Esso of Hearts of Oak and Shafiu Mumuni who doubles as the skipper of the Black Stars B finished as the best from Ghana to complete the tournament's XI.
Fatawu Mohammed who played every minute in the tournament sealed his place at the right back position with Ama Tchoutchoui from Togo, Moussa Ndiaye and Elhadj Moutarou Balde from Senegal completing the back four.
Joseph Esso was picked after scoring twice in the competition from attacking midfield position to form a quintet in the middle with Jean Mohamed Mouste and Mamaye Coulibaly from Mali and Ousseynou Niang from Senegal. Ibrahim Ouattara from Cote D'Ivoire completed the midfield.
Ashanti Gold striker Shafiu Mumuni who finished the tournament with four goals and won the golden boot leads the attack of the team.
Ghana failed to defend the tournament for the second time after winning it on consecutive times in the previous two editions
