Orlando Pirates step up chase for Richard Ofori

South African giants Orlando Pirates have reportedly intensified their interest in the Black Stars goalkeeper .

Orlando Pirates have been linked with Maritzburg United captain Richard Ofori for several months and it’s been widely reported that the Soweto side was keen on landing the shot-stopper’s signature.

Ofori recently had the added one-year option on his contract exercised, which secures his services until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

However, indications are that Maritzburg may have to prepare for life without the goalkeeper come the end of the season.

Sources in South Africa have indicated that the Team of Choice are open to letting the Ghanaian goalkeeper go, but this only to the highest bidder at the end of the season.

There’s been talk in the past of a possible move to Europe for Ofori, however, due to the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it could be difficult for the Ghanaian to seal a move abroad any time soon.

With that being said, indications are that the Bucs would need to table an impressive offer to the Team of Choice in order to finally land their long-time transfer target.
