The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially approved Accra Sports Stadium as the venue for Ghanaian clubs participating in the upcoming inter-club competitions.

With renovations ongoing at Baba Yara Stadium, Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars—Ghana’s representatives in the 2025/26 CAF inter-club tournaments—will host their home fixtures at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko has been drawn against Nigeria’s Kwara United, while GoldStars, the 2025 Ghana Premier League champions, will take on Algeria’s JS Kabylie.

The Porcupine Warriors are scheduled to host Kwara United between September 19 and 21, 2025, with the return leg set for September 26 to 28 in Nigeria. GoldStars will face JS Kabylie at home during the same September 19-21 window before traveling to Algeria for the return leg between September 26 and 28.

CAF’s release notes that, despite the stadium still not fully meeting international standards, it has been cleared to host the preliminary stages of both the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Champions League matches.

The decision ensures that Ghanaian clubs can participate in continental competitions while renovations continue at the country’s primary stadiums.
