Former Great Olympics and Dreams FC forward, Abel Manomey has completed his post-graduate studies and is very proud of his journey as he’s never regretted picking education over football. 

Despite playing at the highest level in the country where he was at certain point making headlines especially during his time with Great Olympics, the explosive attacker at certain point had to ditch football temporary to focus fully on his education. 

He had his degree and masters from the University of Education, Winneba before proceeding to the University of Stirling in Scotland for his post-graduate studies - where he once again combined both education and football which is why he is still looking active to play again. 

After an impressive spell with Kotoku Royals with 13 goals in 27 games, he furthered on to the country’s topflight where he featured for clubs like Great Olympics and Dreams FC before holding on to hit the books and have another dream achieved. 

Speaking your trusted interview hub Linus Siaw Nartey TV on YouTube, the agile and clinical finisher explained reasons behind his decision to focus much on education than football and added he’s never experienced any form of anguish taking that bold step. 

“Yes it’s true. The move was lucrative but I keep saying, I’m thinking about longevity. I’ve seen a lot of footballers who are struggling and it’s not their fault. You know they tried hard to make sure the society was okay. 

“They gave out everything but today in their downest moments nobody is around them. These were the things I saw and I told myself Mphil is good and if I’m in my second year and I struggled throughout the first year, why would I put it down and go and play football? I finished Mphil before I joined University of Stirling and I’ve no regrets about it”.

Manomey, 34, further clarified that he hasn’t retired from football yet and his doors are still open for suitable offers
