Ghana winger Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer scored a match-winner to help Hamburg SV advance to the next round of the 2025–26 DFB Pokal on Saturday afternoon.

Hamburg SV defeated German fifth-tier outfit FK Pirmasens 2-1 in extra time to progress to the next stage of the competition.

After a lack of goals in the first half, FK Pirmasens took the lead in the 52nd minute through Yannick Griess before the visitors had the level in the dying embers to push the game into extra time.

A 92nd-minute strike from Guilherme Ramos ended the fixture in a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.

Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer snatched the qualification to the next round of the DFB Pokal with his brilliant goal in the 100th minute of the game.

The 23-year-old was supposed to seal a move to French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, but the switch collapsed due to medical issues.

Despite the setback, Yeboah Konigsdorffer returned to Hamburg SV with a crucial goal to send them to the next round of the DFB Pokal and is expected to continue with his goal-scoring prowess in the Bundesliga, which starts next week.

Hamburg SV will be commencing their 2024–25 German Bundesliga campaign with a trip to face Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
