GNPC to hand over CAM Park to Karela United on Sunday

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC, will on Sunday, Nov 22, 2020 officially hand over the refurbished Crosby Awuah Memorial Park at Aiyinase to Karela United FC.


The official handing over will take place at 1 PM before the team take on their second Ghana Premier League game for the 2020/21 season at 3 PM.

The renovation work is estimated to be around $1.87 million which has given the stadium a modernised facelift with capacity around 10,000 spectators.
The facility is one of many been done across the country by GNPC in their quest to see to the development of sports in the country.
Karela United FC adopted the Akoon Park at Tarkwa to be their grounds for the cancelled 2019/2020 season due to the renovation works at CAM park where they had difficult times at Tarkwa that nearly saw them relegated should the league had not been cancelled.
With an impeccable records at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park playing over 60 games without a defeat, it comes as a good news for the club as they move back to their favourite grounds in order to be much competitive  in the top-flight league.
Karela United FC welcome Inter Allies to their first game at the ground since its renovation.
