VAR will soon be introduced in our football — Prosper Harrison Addo

The Ghana Football Association General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo has disclosed, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will soon be introduced in Ghana  to be used in the topflight and other divisions.

 

According to him, the introduction of VAR will help boost our football and also aid referees to take good decisions in order to handle games free and fair without any complains like it has been.

 
With the easy nature of the VAR which the centre-man refers anytime an incident skips him or takes a doubtful decision, it will bring the best and the results will reflect with the performance on the pitch.
 
VAR is used in lots of competitions right now especially in Europe, most of the countries and football governing bodies like FIFA, UEFA, CAF, CONMEBOL all uses the VAR which allows for good officiating in their various competitions.
 
However, some African countries like Egypt, Morroco etc all have the introduction of VAR in their various leagues
 
With this, Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo has indicated Ghana will be the first West African country to introduce VAR in their football as talks on implementation are still ongoing.
 
“Ghana football will soon witness the invention of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to help boost our games” said Prosper Harrison Addo.
 
"The European countries have started using the VAR and it’s helping the football games on the field in on the field decisions and other incidents on the field. Some African countries have started such as Morroco ,Egypt and in some cases south Africa trying on it."
 
"Ghana will soon become the first west African country to Use VAR in our gsmes after consultions, negotiation and preparations are done everyone will see the implementation of the VAR in Ghana."
