MATCH REPORT: Liberty Professionals deny Elmina Sharks first win

Elmina Sharks failed to record first win of the season as they got held by Liberty Professionals to a score drawn game at Ndoum Sports Complex in matchweek two of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.


The Sharks started the first department on a good note doing lots of possession but made less attempts on goal.

Richard Mpong nearly broke the deadlock for the home side but his close range effort on the 18th minute was blocked by the Liberty Professionals backline.
Finally, Elmina Sharks ended the barren nature of the game kind courtesy their poster boy Tweneboah Benjamin who raced past his marker to give the home team the lead.
It ended 1-0 in favour of Elmina Sharks at half time.
The Scientific Soccer lads came really strong in the second attacking with intent and purpose hunting for the equaliser.
Their attempts finally yielded them a penalty on the 54th minute- George Ansong stepped up to convert but his effort was denied by the Lord Bawa Mantey to still make it 1-0.
Approaching the last thirty minutes of the game, Elmina Sharks ended the game with ten men after Dennis Mensah was handed a second yellow after a horrific tackle sending him straight to the dressing room.
Liberty Professionals capitalised on the numerical advantage on their side to get back on level through substitute Kwaku Karikari.
Spoils shared between the two teams after full time. 
Elmina Sharks marksman Tweneboah Benjamin was adjudged man of the match of the game.
