Ghana Premier League current goalking, Diawusie Taylor has fumed at the decision of the Ghana Football Association who refused to honour him at the just ended 2021 GPL awards.

The country's highest football governing body GFA, held the GPL awards ceremony in a mini event which was held in Accra on Tuesday, 30th August 2021 where they awarded standout performers in the just ended football season.

The ceremony ultimately saw Hearts of Oak duo of Samuel Boadu and Ibrahim Salifu adjudged Coach and Player of the season but there was no sign of Karela United forward been present and also wasn't given any plaque despite finishing as the top scorer of the league with 18 goals.

Speaking with Angel FM in Accra, the elite gunman has expressed his dissatisfaction over the awards ceremony for not been honoured and has stated it will be very awful if he doesn't get any plaque or an honour from the GFA.

“I saw it yesterday, I think this is not coming from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), I think Nasco organized it, I don’t want to believe it is a general awards ceremony that we all know,” Diawusie told Angel FM Accra.

"They awarded Player of the season and coach of the season, as a top scorer I didn’t hear anything from them. Awards like this people will expect who is the top scorer with the golden boot."

"It will be very worrying if I don’t get any plaque to show that I’m the top scorer. I’m hoping that this is not the final awards ceremony,” he concluded.

The enterprising striker was outstanding at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park and has been linked with a move to Asante Kotoko and has also gotten offers from abroad.
