Hearts beat lower-tier side in friendly Featured

Hearts of Oak thrashed lower-tier side Elders FC in their first pre-season friendly on Wednesday.

The red hot reigning Ghana Premier League champions exhibited an high level of football to pummel the Adabraka based side 3-0 at the Legon Ajax Park.

Isaac Mensah netted twice in the first half of the game before Larry Sumaila sealed the victory with a classy stunner for the Phobians.

The Division Two side were looking forward to shock the Phobians but that did not happen.

However, Hearts of Oak will be traveling to Guinea for their CAF Champions League opening game against CI Kamsar on September 12.

Malian referee Sory Ibrahima Keita Sory has been appointed as the center referee with his fellow countrymen Drissa Kamory Niare as assistant 1 and Amadou Belly Guisse Amadou as assistant 2 respectively.

Harouna Coulibaly, who is also a Malian, will be the fourth official for the match.
