CK Akonnor admits to Black Stars poor performance against Ethiopia Featured

Ghana coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor feels disappointed with his charges output against Ethiopia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers despite a slim win.

Akonnor has admitted that the team's performance in their 1-0 win over Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Friday evening was below par.

 
A first half strike from Mubarak Wakaso secured the senior national team of Ghana all the needed points over the East African nation in match-day one of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
 
“There were also other bad performances from some players on the field. We managed to win. It was a very difficult game" Akonnor told reporters after the game.
 
"We were not too exciting as we expected to play, I must admit. But we managed to win the three points which is the most important thing”
 
The Black Stars will fly out to South Africa to face the Bafana Bafana on September 6 in the match-day two of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
 
Ghana are currently leading the Group G log after Zimbabwe and South Africa had shared spoils in the other group fixture on Friday afternoon.
