In an interview with Asempa FM in Accra, the ex- Espanyol midfielder has reiterated that, Ghanaians have been descending on them heavily for the past years because of their inability to win a trophy for the senior national team especially the AFCON which has eluded the country for almost 40 years now. He said;

“The reason why all these criticism is taking place is because the team hasn’t been able to win a trophy for the nation. I’m very sure that if we are able to win the trophy for the nation the fans will not criticise us regardless of the amount we ask for."

"This is the reason why the fans have taken advantage to always complain about the money that comes to the team whenever we play."

The 31 year old has been with the Black Stars since 2012 having made over 60 appearances with 13 goals to his belt and was part of the squad that lost to Cote D'Ivoire in the 2015 AFCON final in Mongomo.
