As the Ghana Football Association continue to search for CK Akonnor's successor, two top European coaches in former Borussia Dortmund manager, Lucien Favre and ex- Manchester City assistant coach Domènec Torrent have all applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching role.

The Executive Committee of the GFA last Monday, announced the jettisoning of Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor with his replacement set to be announced in the coming days.

Reports indicates the two top European gaffers have all exhibited strong interest in leading the four time African champions, having sent their CVs to the GFA already, per exclusive reports.
Lucien Favre has been a long serving Swiss manager with so much experience and exposure, having led top clubs like Hertha Berlin, OGC Nice, Borussia Mönchengladbach and more.
Also he once again served as the head coach of the Switzerland national team and headed Borussia Dortmund just last season having lost his role to Edin Terzic and Ghanaian Otoo Addo in the middle of the 2020/21 season.
Domènec Torrent also, has been in professional football management since 1991 having served as a long deputy to top-notch coach Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Again, the Spanish tactician also served as head coach for MLS side New York City FC and just recently Brazilian topflight outfit Flamengo.
However, there has been series of speculations linking coaches like Herve Renard, Ibrahim Tanko, Akwasi Appiah etc to the Black Stars coaching role.
Meanwhile, the GFA have also stated, there is going to be a new coach to lead the senior national team in the next 72 hours.
