REVEALED: Over 50 foreign coaches apply for Black Stars coaching job in less than 24 hours of CK Akonnor's sacking Featured

Over fifty (50) foreign coaches have approached the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the Black Stars coaching job in less than 24 hours of Charles Kwablan Akonnor's sacking.


According to source, the Football Association has received application from over 50 expatriates who have expressed interest for the vacant role at the senior national team of Ghana.

The Ghana Football Association on Monday announced the sacking of Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor and his two assistants namely David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars following the team's poor performance in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia.
The Executive Council of the Ghana FA instituted a three member committee of Vice President Mark Addo, Upper East Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Salifu Zida and Dr. Randy Abbey to find a new head coach for the senior national football team in the next 72 hours.
Former Broussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre and ex-Manchester City assistant gaffer Doménec Torrent are among the top coaches who have applied for the vacant coaching role at the West African nation.
Ghana currently occupies third spot with three points on the Group G log of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after the two opening matches.
The Black Stars will take on Zimbabwe in the next round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month
