Former Ghanaian international, Sam Johnson has urged all Ghanaian football fans to rubbish the idea of introducing a new captaincy problems in the current Black Stars squad making reference to what has occurred in the past on the same issue.

Coach Milovan Rajevac's rejuvenated Black Stars side have definitely brought back the love to a certain level with their sumptuous display after completing a back to back over the Zimbabwean Warriors just recently in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana after those two precious victories are on 9 points at the moment, trailing leaders South Africa with just a point on the Group G log after four matches.
Speaking to Kumasi FM on Sunset Sports, the ex- Hearts of Oak defender has reiterated that, captaincy issue shouldn't come into the team now since it offers nothing good but to only a create division in the team.
Also, he's advised everyone to make reference to captaincy issues that has happened in the national team in previous years emphasizing it will halt the progress of the team who are currently enjoying an awesome run. He said;
"Ghanaians are our own enemies. We were struggling to win matches now that the team has won two games, you same people want to divide the team with captaincy issues."
"People are saying the reaction from Daniel Amartey when Thomas Partey scored for Ghana against Zimbabwe confirmed he and his camp want partey to be captain that's stupidity excuse my words, We shouldn't allow captaincy issues to divide the boys this time around."
"We should learned from Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Akwasi Appiah, Abedi, in recurrent years. Andre Ayew and Asamoah Gyan have done more harm than good to the team."
The Black Stars will play as guest to the Walia Ibexes of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa in their next fixture- a must win tie to remain in the qualification race
