Newly-appointed Medeama SC head coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu has asked the supporters of Asante Kotoko to lower their anticipations heading into the upcoming season amid the introduction of new players and a coach to their set-up.

The young tactician after an impressive spell in Techiman last season, will now lead the Mauves and Yellows heading into the new campaign on a three year deal.

However, the Porcupine Warriors have also appointed Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum as their new coach stepping in as successor for Portuguese gaffer Mariano Barreto and have also made some additional signings.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Luv FM, Ignatius Osei Fosu believes it will take some time for the new and old players to gel very well in the team especially playing under the principles of a new coach and has urged all Kotoko fans to limit their expectations especially in the early stages of the season. He said;

"The first thing is to lower their expectations. The team has a new coach, more of a new technical direction and you have added about 15 new players so it will not be like a team that has been there for sometime."

"When they start and things don't go as expected, let the fans not be angry because is part of the deal that football is not magic. Football is played with principles, it is also a gradual process. I trust Prosper Narteh, the process will come."

Meanwhile, coach Prosper Narteh and his charges are currently on a preseason tour in Dubai and tasted a defeat earlier this morning against second division side Al Hilal United at the Al Hamriyah Sports and Cultural Stadium
