Former Ghana defender, Joseph Hendricks has cautioned defenders of Hearts of Oak ahead of their CAF Champions league clash against Wydad Athletic of Morocco.

According to Hendricks, it will be a huge disaster if defenders of the Premier League champions are unable to avoid lapses which might overly cause the team.

Speaking on Takoradi-based Ahoto FM ahead of the match, the former Black Stars defender who was the captain of the Asante Kotoko team that lost the final of the maiden CAF Confederations Cup to Accra Hearts of Oak in 2005 advised the Phobians to stay on their guard and win on Sunday.

“Hearts of Oak had a splendid form last season and if they want to qualify for the group stage, they must beat WAC convincingly in Accra.

“They should avoid unnecessary fouls that can give WAC a goal on Sunday. The defenders should be very careful.”

Hearts will square-off with the Emperors on Sunday in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The second leg will be played in a week's time in Rabat, Morocco.
