President of the republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo has gifted a whooping GHC1million to champions Hearts of Oak to cater for some of their cost in their African campaign after a meeting with the club's Board at the Jubilee House.

Initially, the meeting should have been done earlier but got postponed because of the President's tight schedule having embarked on an international sitting last month.

The Hearts of Oak contingent were led by Board Member, Vincent Sowah Odotey and presented both the league and FA Cup trophies they won last season to the country's first gentleman of which he was really pleased with and gave them a huge congratulations message.
Hearts of Oak earlier this season, represented Ghana in the CAF Champions League but suffered a second preliminary round elimination against WAC of Morocco and have now dipped into the second elite club competition on the continent.
However, their start to the season has been very poor as they are yet to pick maximum points in the ongoing season having drawn three and lost one which came against AshantiGold SC in their last game on Sunday.
The President during the meeting assured the 'Phobians' of the full commitment and support of the entire nation and also wished them well in the ongoing season.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will be locking horns with Algerian side JS Saoura this weekend in the first leg of the playoff round of the CAF Confederations Cup in the capital.
