Former Ghana President John Dramani Mahama has called on the Senior National Team, the Black Stars to do all that they can to annex the trophy of the ongoing 2017 Africa Cup of nations tournament in Gabon.
The four-time Africa Champions have not won the trophy since 1982 and now Ghanaians think it is high time they end the nation's 34 years trophy drought in this year's flagship competitions.
Notwithstanding, the former commander-in-chief of the Ghana arm forces has also added his voice to the calls by the football loving fans in their quest to see the trophy back home this time round.
He featured on his official twitter handle : ''#BringBackthecup. The AFCON cup has eluded us for too long.Let's support our Black Stars.''
Ghana will face Uganda in group D opener today at eaxctly [16: 00 GMT] local time.
