Opoku Nti blocked my move to Sunderland - Former Kotoko youth star reveals Featured

Bibiani GoldStars midfielder Mujeeb Abdul Hakeem has revealed that the former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer blocked his transfer to English top-flight side Sunderland.
 
The 22-year-old was a member of the Kotoko Youth team that participated in the 2014 FIFA Youth Championship in Switzerland.
 
According to the young midfielder, he emerged on the radar of several clubs in Europe after the tournament.
 
He revealed that English Premier League side Sunderland submitted a bid to the Kumasi based club for his services but the offer was rejected.
 
Abdul Hakeem added that the Opoku Nti's administration were behind the broken down of the move after holding talks with the English side.
 
"Well...I can say that Opoku Nti's administration neglected us [the Kotoko youth team] after the previous administration (Dr. K.K Sarpong)" Mujeeb told Kickgh.com in an exclusive interview.
 
"After our trip to Switzerland, some of us [players] at the Kotoko youth team had several offers from European clubs"
 
"But he [Opoku Nti] blocked the move because he said the transfer fees were too small"
 
"And my brother will you believe that English Premier League side Sunderland launched a bid to sign me but Mr. Opoku Nti rejected it''
 
"I still love Asante Kotoko and am ready to return to the club"
