Newly appointed head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, James Kwesi Appiah has urged Ghanaians to rally behind him to succeed as an indigenous coach.
The 56-year-old landed the Ghana job on a two-year deal after a successful negotiations with the country's football governing body on Tuesday.
According to the Al Khartoum trainer, he will only succeed at the senior national team if his own people support him.
“We have believe in ourselves the most important thing is our leaders or FA Presidents having the confidence in us giving us every support they would have given foreign coaches” he told Super Sport TV
“If we all support our own we will be successful, there won't be the need to bring someone from outside to do it for us.
"And for that reason we can always open our chest and say this is our own who is managing us and is taking us far”
Coach Kwesi Appiah will start work for Ghana on the first day of next month.
