The FIFA Executive council member has led the football governing body since 2005.
He has finally announced that he will not be contesting the GFA elections when his tenure expires.
''Indeed, I have no plans to entrench myself in the position as it is a privileged post; at a point, I would have to leave and there is no better time to do so than when the applaud is very loud,'' Nyantakyi told the Graphic Sports.
''I don't think I'm the only person capable of leading Ghana football. I can do so much but not everything. Besides, I think we all must take a page from the wind of change blowing in FIFA on reforms which among things place a limit on the term of president.''
