Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Samuel Akurugu is set to complete his move to the Nigeria Premier League Rivers United FC.
 
The former Sekondi Hasaacas goalie left the shores of Ghana few days ago to conclude his move to the Liberation Stadium outfit per our outfit sources.
 
He wrote to his club, Hearts of Oak, in November last year to terminate his contract due to lack of regular playing time.
 
Akurugu lost his position as Hearts of Oak number one in the sticks to Ben Mensah during the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season where he made only ten appearances.
 
He had a two-week trial with Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas but failed to secure a contract in December last year.
 
Rivers United already have Former Medeama SC attacker Godbless Asamoah in their set-up.
