NC Special Cup Report: WAFA SC 3-2 Hearts of Oak - Academy boys flog Phobians again in Sogakope

West African Football Academy continued their impressive performance in the GFA Normalization Committee Special Cup with another home victory on Sunday afternoon.

The Academy boys inflicted a 3-2 defeat on Hearts of Oak in the match-day six of the competition at the Red Bull Arena.
 
The two sides started the match on a good notes as they managed to produce two goals before the break.
 
Youngster Haruna Jamal registered the opener for the home side with a classy strike on the 12th minute of the game.
 
The visitors, Hearts of Oak, gained possession to dominated the game as they snatched the equaliser on the half-hour mark.
 
Skipper Fatawu Mohammed fetched the leveller a chipping a pass from Esso over goalkeeper Sabi Acquah on the 30th minute.
 
The first department of the match ended in a one-all draw at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.
 
Back from the break, WAFA continued to pile pressure on the visitors to score two goals which earned them all the needed points.
 
Ghana U20 star Daniel Lomotey restored the lead for the home side with his goal on the 58th minute before his teammate Bortey Acquaye made it 3-1 on the 70th minute.
 
A late penalty kick which was neatly converted by Christopher Bonney on the 80th minute was not enough for the Phobians as they suffered their third defeat in their campaign.
