The Porcupine Warriors are set to announce the exit of the Norwegian trainer after three months, Kickgh.com exclusively report.

Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have started to consider replacements for head coach Kjetil Zachariassen.

The UEFA licensed coach joined the Kumasi-based club on a three-year deal as replacement for Charles Kwablan Akonnor who faced contract termination in July.

Kickgh.com can report that management of Asante Kotoko have decided to end their contract Coach Zachariassen after failing to secure them a place in the 2019/20 CAF Champions League group stages.

He was tasked to lead the two-time CAF Champions League winners to the group stage of the competition in his debut season.

Asante Kotoko were crashed out by Etoile Sportive du Sahel on a 3-2 aggregate after they were walloped 3-0 in the reverse leg tie staged in Tunisia on Sunday.

A portion of Zachariassen's contract reads "Kjetil Zachariassen’s contract would see him through the 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, and he is expected to lead the Porcupines to the group stage of the Champions League in the first season.

"The second-year should also see him qualify the team for the Champions League again with the target of a semi-final berth.

"The Champions League qualification is also expected the following year, this time around with a place in the final on the cards.

"The Porcupines would take solace in three CAF Confederation Cup campaigns within Kjetil Zachariassen’s three-year period should they fail to make the Champions League mark."

"The club, however, expects to win at least one of the three competitions within the period of the relationship with the coach."

Zachariassen previously had a short stint with Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC where he guided them to clinch the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition tier-2 after whipping Kotoko in the final.

Asante Kotoko have been demoted to the CAF Confederation Cup and will know their opponent in the play-offs round on October 9th.
