Asante Kotoko gaffer Maxwell Konadu has urged striker Songne Yacouba to work hard to improve his performance and added that he needs to start scoring goals for the club.

Yacouba struggled to end his goal drought for the Porcupine Warriors after his ferocious strike in the first half was flagged offside in their 1-0 win over Eleven Wonders in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League opener on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

However, the former Black Stars assistant coach, Maxwell Konadu has told Yacouba to work hard at training and task him to start scoring for Kotoko.

"Yacouba is coming from injury. He's doing his best. We're trying to fix his physical and mental situation. We've heard a lot of issues around," Maxwell Konadu told Kickgh.com.

"He's pushing in training but I think he still needs to do more. Every striker must score which he nearly scored unfortunately he was in an offside position. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens moving forward," he ended.
