The former Black Stars shot-stopper says the FC Cordoba goal post custodian should be made the nation's number one at the expense of his competitors.

Ex-Ghana international Abubakari Damba has called on the technical team of the Black Stars to allow FC Cordoba shot-stopper Razak Braimah to be the number one last line of defense in the senior national team.

Damba, who is the goalkeepers' trainer of the newly promoted side, Dreams FC, argues none of the gloovesmen currently in the Black Stars squad can compete with the 29-year-old Spanish based keeper and should be installed as the first choice goal post custodian in the team.

"Looking at our Black Stars team, we have been very confident in Braimah even though he may be having his challenges or mistakes, but he is the most capped and consistent goalkeeper among our three current goalkeepers," the 37-year-old retired net-minder told Kumasi-based Silver FM.

He added: "Also, he [Razak Braimah] has been used in our backline position frequently, though I'm not looking at him or judging him based on his individual capabilities, but rather a team player and so I think Braimah should be in the post for us because of consistency with the squad."

The 29-year-old is currently with his team-mates in Tamale ahead of their 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying opener against Uganda on Friday.
