The 2018 MTN FA Cup round of 32 draw was held today at the Ghana FA headquarters in Accra on Tuesday morning.

The managing director of Bolgatanga- Soe based division two side Soccer Masters, Nicholas Ayine Ayidah said he will be delighted if his side is paired against a premier league side in the round of 32 MTN FA Cup draw.

Soccer Masters got to this stage of the competition after edging out fellow division two sides, FC Tamale in the preliminary round 4-2 on penalties in Tamale and also beating their regional counterparts Zuarungu FC 3-0 in the round of 64 tie at home.

They are the only team from the Upper East Region left in the Ghana MTN FA Cup competition and Ayine believed a premier league opponent will be good for his side.

“I will be glad if my club is pitted against a premier league club than a first or second division side.

Playing the first or second divisions clubs are difficult than the premier clubs and as a developing club we will prefer to showcase our talents to the premier league clubs than the first or second division clubs.

I know it will not be easy but I believe in my technical team and my players and I know we can advance to the round of 16 regardless whoever we meet in the round of 64”.  He told GBC Ura Radio Sports in Bolgatanga.

He however added that he will be happy to get a home draw.

“Who will not want to a play a cup match at home, all the teams left will be praying to get a home draw and we are also praying so, but I must say that whether a home or away match we will give it our all to win.”

Soccer Masters are making their first outing in the MTN FA Cup this season and are targeting a quarterfinals berth in the competition.

The draw for the round of 32 fixtures of the MTN FA Cup will take place next month.
