The Italian trainer has distanced himself from the exit of the 2019 WAFU Cup topscorer from the Obuasi based club.

AshantiGold SC head coach Roberto Landi has said he knows nothing about the departure of the club's skipper Shafiu Mumuni.

The 64-year-old debunked the earlier statement made by the Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold SC, Emmanuel Frimpong that the lanky attacker wasn't in coach's plans for their next season's campaign.

"I don't know...it's his opinion not my opinion it's his personal opinion because I have not gotten time to do clear and exact evaluation," Landi told Oyerepa FM

"Everywhere in this world the coach has to assess and evaluate the players so I decide on those I like and those I don't."

No it's not my opinion.I know him [Shafiu Mumuni] but I need time to evaluate all the players and take a decision, I need time, that's the Professional way.

Mumuni was the top scorer of the Obuasi based club in their last campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Shafiu has been heavily linked to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

Mumuni was crowned top scorer for the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations after netting four goals after the tournament.

He made history to become the first-ever player to register a hat-trick at the tournament held in Senegal last year.
