MATCH REPORT: Kotoko wallop lower-tier side in a preseason friendly Featured

The Porcupine Warriors started their preseason exercise for the 2020/21 season on a good note with a resounding victory over a lower-tier side in a friendly on Sunday afternoon.


Coach Maxwell Konadu handed starting berth to five newbies in their 3-0 victory over Odweanoma FC at the All Nations University Stadium in Koforidua.

The match was played with two different line ups which comprising of the newly signed players which Kwame Opoku who joined the Porcupine Warriors from Nkoranza Warriors registered his name on the score sheet.
The game looked balanced in the early minutes of the match but Konadu's tactics eluded their opponent to hand them a 2-0 lead in the first department of the match.
Returnee Osman Ibrahim opened the floodgate for the Ghanaian giants with a superb finish on the 6th minute of the match.
Asante Kotoko continued their impressive performance which earned them the second goal with four minutes to end the first half of the game.
Guinean international Naby Keita doubled the score for his side on the 41st minute to end the first half in a 2-0 lead.
Coach Maxwell Konadu introduced a new crop of players including Kwame Opoku and Patrick Asmah who joined the club for the upcoming season.
Opoku sealed their win with a powerful drive on the 78th minute as Odweanoma FC had few chances but failed to utilize them for at least a consolation goal.
