The giants Asante Kotoko will be hosted by WAFA at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope in an epic match-week nine encounter of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier league season.

The Academy boys suffered a painful loss to Legon Cities after conceding a late penalty which was converted by Joseph Adjei to grind the Royals first win of the season in week eight.

Also, Asante Kotoko made a huge statement in match-week eight last Monday beating Liberty Professionals by 2-0 thanks to a brace from top striker Kwame Opoku who had a perfect combination upfront with Brazilian import Fabio Gama.

The Porcupine Warriors having recorded that win currently sit 7th on the table with 12 points whiles WAFA also commands 5th position with just a place into the top 4 with 13 points- having just a point separating the two sides

It is a going to be a game that will involve all departments due to the quality and youthful nature of both teams but the target men, Daniel Lomotey and Kwame Opoku will obviously be the centre of attraction as they both have contributed 12 goals in the ongoing campaign.

The good news is that, the connection between the two sides has been very strong in recent years with WAFA transferring players to the other side as two goalkeepers of Kotoko Felix Annan and Razak Abalora returns home today since they all graduated from the Sogakope-bases outfit.
