Former head coach of the Black Stars, Kwasi Appiah says newly appointed coach of Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh Ogum is the right man for the club.

Ogum was unveiled as the new head coach for the Porcupine Warriors on Sunday, replacing Mariano Barreto.

Incessant reports suggested that the former Kotoko player rejected an offer from management of the club.

Appiah has, however, thrown is weight behind Ogum, saying he is the right man for the job.

"He (Ogum) is very intelligent, humble, hardworking and competent on the job so I strongly believe he can help the club back to its glorious days," he said.

"An experienced lecturer who has practised what he teaches and believes in good football is all that Asante Kotoko needed and I know Ogum can make the club flourish and attractive.

"We need to give him enough time and exercise patience and he will deliver,” he added.

Ogum will be assisted by former Liberty Professionals coach, David Ocloo and John Eduafo.
